Bottom Rolling Hangar Doors

With Bottom Rolling Hangar Doors, it's just the way it sounds. Each panel slides right or left. This allows for the full opening to be exposed with the simple movement of a couple individual panels. The biggest benefit from this style door is the flexibility of the panels' operation. The panels don't require any power to move them if power is scarce for your application.

All Moving

For applications needing maximum flexibility in larger hangars allowing multiple aircraft without using stacking pockets. Simply move all panels to the side of the hangar which doesn't need to be open.

Bi-Part

For applications where the main building structure is not wide enough to allow doors to stack.

Features and Limitations...
  1. Midway Cost Design
  2. Side Room Required
  3. Recommended Maximum of 8 Door Sections
  4. Ideal for Tail Fin and Fuselage Openings
  5. Mid-level Maintenance Cost
  6. Simple Controls

Single Stack

The Single Stack door installs on virtually any type of building, saving money and space. Single Stack doors have been specified for aircraft hangars, tee hangers, industrial and agricultural buildings and even... floating barges!

Northern Stack

  1. Northern Single Stack All Moving Panels
  2. Northern Bi-Part Interlocking Panels
  3. Northern Single Stack Interlocking Panels

Named partly because of its common geographical location, the North states. The rails are protected from ice and snow in cold weather by a pocket built into the building that keeps the rails protected. The rails is also protected by the physical orientation of the stack of panels leaving no exposed rails in the closed position.

Southern Stack

  1. Southern Single Stack All Moving Panels
  2. Southern Bi-Part Interlocking Panels
  3. Southern Single Stack Interlocking Panels

Named partly because of its common geographical location, the Southern states. The rails stay outside of the buildings' walls because snow and ice are not as concerning in the south and the fact that the panels are on the exterior of the building allow more space to be utilized for the customer.

Tilt-Over Hangar Doors

With a Tilt-Over Hangar Door, instead of panels sliding to the right or left, a large single panel the full size of the opening "tilts" and rotates about a central pivot location. This motion projects part of the door toward the outside and the other half inside of the building as it goes up. In the up position, the door provides a shad canopy and has a slight slope towards the exterior to drain water away from the hangar. A large benefit of this style door is that the door itself exerts almost no force on the building itself due to the balanced design. Other benefits of this style door is the incorporation of many safety features NOT included in other style doors to protect you and your property in the case that some "Act of God" situation.

Tilt-Over Hangar Doors can provide many design options. They can be framed and sheeted with a wide variety of materials. Tilt-Over Hangar Doors can also include windows, doors or unusual design features to compliment or contrast the materials of the hangar. They require very little side or head room.

Tilt-Over Hangar Doors can be insulated. Their operation is almost always driven by electric motor attached to a hydraulic pump. The panels are lifted with steel cables. Remote controls can be provided. Generally, lead times are short and installation is quick.

Benefits of the ADS Tilt-Over door!

  1. Nearly Non-Existent Reaction Forces Exerted on Building
  2. All-in-One Lift-and-Locking Joint for Safer Lifting Experience
  3. Outward slope in open position MINIMIZES water runoff into YOUR hangar.

Top Hung Hydraulic Doors

With a Top Hung Hydraulic Doors, instead of panels sliding to the right or left, a large single panel the full size of opening rotates about the top of the door by an over sized hinge. These doors are hydraulically actuated by a double cylinder system that attaches to the upper section of the door jamb and the bottom section of the door. In the up position the door provides the largest shaded canopy and has a slight outward slope out to drain water away from the hangar.

Bi-Folding Doors

With a Bi-Fold hangar door, instead of panels sliding to the right or left, each panel collapses in its center and projects toward the outside of the opening as it goes up. In the up position the door provides a shade canopy and has a slight outward slope out to drain water away from the hangar.

Service

Alamo Door Systems services and repairs bi-folding hangar doors. We can also provide new bi-fold hangar door installation solutions in applicable openings with limited side clearance on either side and generally low budgets.

Tail Doors

For use with Bottom Rolling Hangar Doors only, tail doors are separate from the main sliding door. These doors are opened after the sliding door has been opened and allows the tail fin to fit through the opening. This feature allows minimization of the opening height to allow only the wings and other parts to clear.
